Regatta Up ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Regatta Up regatta management platform and the Regatta Up Race Tracker application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
When you register for a regatta, create an account, or volunteer, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, emergency contact details, club or federation affiliation, boat class and sail number, and any other details you enter on a registration or volunteer form.
The Regatta Up Race Tracker collects real-time position, speed, heading, and timing data from transponders and GPS devices attached to or carried by participating boats during races and practice sessions. This data is associated with a boat's transponder or sail number and is used to display live race positions, lap times, and results on the map and race displays.
We automatically collect usage data such as pages viewed, device type, browser, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Live and historical race tracking data — including boat positions, speeds, and lap times — may be shown publicly on race displays and the Race Tracker map, associated with the boat's sail number or transponder code. Real-time GPS coordinates are only collected while a race or practice session is active.
We share information with event organizers and regatta hosts necessary to run an event, with payment processors to handle transactions, and with service providers who help us operate the Service. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We retain registration, results, and historical race tracking data for as long as needed to maintain results archives and comply with legal requirements, then delete or anonymize it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting the event organizer or us. Where race tracking data is recorded as part of official race results, it may be retained as a historical record.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Minors may register for events with the consent of a parent or guardian, who must sign the waiver on the minor's behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without such consent.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date.
